Test Sieves

A test sieve is the core component of a sieve shaker, featuring a mesh with precisely defined openings that segregate the sample during testing. There is a wide variety of test sieves that are available commercially. They come in different materials, frames, diameters, heights and shapes of openings, enabling the selection of the ideal sieve to meet specific testing requirements.

Test sieves with wire woven mesh bottoms are available across the entire standard range of mesh sizes, from 0.02 mm to 125 mm. These sieves are suitable for bulk materials of all sizes and are used across a wide range of industries. The smooth frame surface prevents cross-contamination, while the sieve fabric retains its tension even after extensive use.

For finer applications, test sieves with electroformed sheets are available for mesh sizes from 5 µm to 100 µm. These electrogalvanically produced nickel foils feature round or square holes and are standardised up to 500 µm.

Other sieves with square perforations on metal sheets are ideal for screening road-building stone, concrete additives, gravel, sand, and ballast. For grain testing, we offer sieves with slotted plates that meet ISO 5223 standards.

Test sieves are offered in all common frame diameters, ranging from 76.2 mm to 400 mm. The most commonly used frame size is 200 mm in diameter. For coarse sieves with apertures of 1.0 mm and larger, or when handling larger material quantities, 300 mm or 400 mm diameter frames are ideal.

When compliance with US ASTM standards is required, sieve frames in sizes of 8 inches (203 mm), 12 inches (305 mm), and 18 inches (450 mm) are preferred.

Additionally, square wooden-framed sieves are available with 300 mm and 500 mm sides, catering to coarser materials and specific testing requirements. Some examples are industrial rocks and minerals, cereals, glass and ceramic.

The test sieves comply to various industrial standards such as:

·        ISO 3310-1 & ASTM E11 Test sieves of woven wire cloth

·        ISO 3310-2 & ASTM E323 Test sieves of perforated metal plate

·        ISO 3310-3 & ASTM E161 Test sieves of electroformed sheets

·        ISO 565 Nominal size of openings for woven wire, perforated plate and electroformed sheet sieves

Air Jet Sieves

Air Jet Sieves

We offer sieves that are used in the Nexopart (previously branded as Hosokawa Alpine) e200 LS air jet sieve machine, which is designed for fine particles that tend to agglomerate and clog up the sieve. During the sieving process, particles on the sieve fabric are briefly dispersed by the airflow generated from the rotating slotted nozzle within the sieving chamber. This airflow impacts the particles against the lid before drawing them downward through the sieve apertures via vacuum suction.

These air jet sieves feature RFID identification tags embedded in the stainless steel frame, which are automatically recognised by the machine, enhancing traceability and preventing human error.

Test sieves compatible with the old A 200 LS and 200 LS-N models are also available.
